Description

Cold-peel DTF Transfer Film VS Hot-peel DTF Transfer Film
DTF film is one of the most important consumables in Direct to Film printing process, T-shirt printing cannot be done without transferring the print patterns onto the clothes, (so the DTF Film is called DTF Transfer Film as well), Hot Peel Film and Cold Peel Film are 2 types of DTF Film used for the transferring.

The key differences between Hot Peel Film and Cold Peel Film are: Hot Peel Film is more efficient, for large patterns with lower press temperature (140℃-150℃) while Cold Peel Film can be applied to more types of fabrics with longer-term water washing fastness at lower cost.

Cold-peel DTF Film - The main component of cold-peel DTF film is silicon. Silicone is easier to melt and apply to the film than hot-peel DTF film. This is why the cold-peel DTF film is more stable than the hot-peel DTF film on the market.

Hot-peel DTF film - To achieve a quick tear, the main component of the release layer is wax, which is relatively unstable and does not melt and apply easily.

The pressing temperature of cold peel DTF film is longer than that of hot peel film, usually 150-170℃ for 10-20 seconds, after pressing, it takes about 30 seconds cooling time before tearing off. The adhesive layer of the cold peel film adopts oil-based back coating method and has good washing fastness.

Advantages of Jingtong Double-Side DTF film
  • Excellent Ink Absorption - with a multi-layer coating process, the film ensures rich colour reproduction and minimal bleeding. (Product spec mentions three coating layers for single-sided matte).
  • Vivid Color and Durable - DTF transfer film has a high color yield, and the high transfer rate accomplishes vivid, clear colors. Washable, soft to the touch and durable.
  • Three coating layers - Single-sided matte glossy DTF film, 3 layers coating process for better ink absorption for fuller prints, allowing for brilliant color-rich transfers.
  • Easy to peel off: The film surface is dry and can be easily cold-peeled.
  • Good elasticity - The pattern after being heat transferred has a texture like PU glue, strong elasticity and no deformation when stretched, and the hand feels softer than screen printing.
  • Wide Fabric Compatibility – works smoothly with cotton, polyester, blends, leather, nylon, spandex and more for versatile application.

How to Use Jingtong DTF Transfer Film

DTF Film Applications
Suitable for DTF Inks and DTF Powder. For use on cotton, polyester, blends, Tri-blends, leather, spandex, and more. Can be used for dark and light fabric.

Precautions for using special DTF Transfer Film:
Size: 30cm/60cm/120cm*100m, A3/A4*100/200 sheets
Transfer Temperature & Time: Press at 140-160℃ for 6-8s with 5-7kg pressure
Oven-Cured Temperature & time: Press at 120-130℃ for 6-8s
Ink Recommendation: Printing >70% white ink
Application: Transfer printing factory, heat transfer factory, various clothing transfer trademarks.
Printing conditions are generally controlled to a humidity of 50%-60%; The indoor temperature is controlled at 20-25℃;
The rear heating plate of the printer should be kept heated to 38-45 degrees.
After printing the pattern, let the printed patterned film flow into the automatic powder shaking machine.
Due to reasons such as ink, pay attention to climate change. When the temperature is low in winter, you can turn on the front and rear heating of the printer to ensure stable quality;
It is also recommended to heat the heating plate of the powder baking machine to 40-50 degrees.
Generally, the baking speed after powder shaking should match the printing speed. The temperature is best to warm up first and then heat up the stepped oven, and the film surface temperature should be controlled between 70-90℃
 The oven temperature is 120℃-130℃.
After baking, the film is rewound into a finished film with a pattern, which should be stamped on the surface of the substrate, such as clothes, as soon as possible through a stamping machine.
Hot stamping temperature: 140-160℃, adjusted according to the physical properties of the rubber powder; (the hot stamping temperature of the glossy film is preferably 160℃-180℃)
Hot stamping time is 6-8 seconds; (the instant tear film is instant tear, the hot and cold tear can be cold or hot, and the glossy film is cold tear)
Hot stamping pressure is 5-7KG;
It is appropriate to match the specific fabric.
